Case Study
Overview
A student contribution payment system for Socorro National High School's accounting department. It replaces the school's Excel-based ledger with per-section payment tracking across four quarters, role-based access for cashiers and admins, cash-advance requests, and liquidation records — live at contritrack.localwebventures.net.
Ownership
Solo-built the production accounting system used by Socorro National High School — ledger, payments, cash advances, liquidations, and role-based access.
Constraints
The existing workflow was a shared Excel ledger (4 quarters × Prelim/Final per student) that accounting staff already knew. The system had to match that layout so cashiers could switch without retraining, while adding status, balances, and auditability Excel could not enforce.
Key Decisions
Modeled the data around school year → section → enrollment → 8 payment slots, with Admin/Cashier/Viewer roles, rather than a generic finance CRUD app. Cash advances and liquidations were added as first-class workflows so collections, disbursements, and deposits stay in one system.
Impact
Live at contritrack.localwebventures.net and used by SNHS accounting to record contribution payments, track unpaid balances, and liquidate collections instead of maintaining the old spreadsheet workflow.
